The first time the person contacted me it was normal, but after she replied to tell me about herself and her name changed from "Beatriz" to "Beatrix," I figured something was up. By the way, if you want to pretend you are from a foreign country to hide the fact that you cannot speak english, Ireland really is not your best bet. I lobe reading as well. Enjoy. Did either of you reply with the information she wanted? If so, what happened?
She just responded to my posting yesterday and it concerns me that she is also looking for a place in Davis.
I didn't reply with any information because I definitely did not want to get caught up with that! Just stay far away!

ReplyDeleteI think I've heard of this scam before by a friend from Germany. What happens is, when you reach an "agreement", she sends a large amount of money (the rent of all year) with an invalid check to your address. Then she tells you that she needs part of the money she sent you back. The catch is that she asks you to send the money via a reliable method like Western Union.
I think she does the same thing to every house/room ad in California.
Thank you for posting this. I received a general inquiry for my rental from this person. I did a google search on her name and came across your blog. So happy to not have wasted time with her. She has a seemingly fake Facebook page that says she went to school in Scotland, which is why I did further searches. Thanks!
